6 years

I'm a few days behind, but my account just turned 6. What a hell of a ride it’s been. Since no one managed to get me a cake, I thought you could atone for your sins by showering me with praise, adoration, or just apologizing for your musical taste.

Sincerely,
TheBig3

hahahahahahaha, I knew you'd love this.

Oh ****, I forgot to tell you. Last night at pub trivia they ask some final bonus question like "What is the most popular sci-fi show on television according to downloads, DVD sales, commerical success blah, blah blah."

I lean into the team and go "My British friends tell me Dr. Who has been on for like 50 years."

After I was shouted down, and we had submitted Star Trek, I looked like a ****ing genius because I'd guess correctly. So thank you to my British friends for making the new kids on my team eat **** pie.

Mojo 08-27-2010 10:58 AM

Well done Big3. You now qualify for the MB OAP pass. In truth it doesn't offer much of an advantage for you in your old age but it does mean you can publicly piss in any thread you wish without consequence and everyone is forced to pretend that it is cute rather than disgusting.

Congrats.

TheBig3 08-27-2010 11:02 AM

all my dreams are being realized. Its a great day to be alive.

To be fair I probably would have said Star Trek too.

You'd probably need a warehouse to own a complete dvd collection of that.

Big3, in honor of your account's 6 year anniversary, I decided to try to atone for my little porn unicorn poem about you by writing a short, sentimental song about time passing. (At your next anniversary I may have to atone for these lyrics! ;))

After thinking about your username's meaning, your interests in politics and poetry, and some frustrations you've talked about on MB, I decided to make up my own definition of The Big Three. Here is what resulted.

Important note: Uh, yes, in case you are wondering, the song *does* end up with you dying. Other than that, the song is supposed to be an uplifting one! :D

***************************************

The Big Three - for TheBig3 on his 6 year MB anniversary

Among good fortunes no one should destroy
are three I hope you’ll most enjoy:
I wish you peace,
I wish you love,
I wish you joy.

When you feel downhearted and tired of
day after day of push and shove,
I wish you peace,
I wish you love,
I wish you joy.

If you think an answer is wrong, then debate it.
If a truth hasn’t been told, then try to state it.
If a problem needs a solution, then create it.
This journey isn’t very long. Appreciate it,
and I think you’ll make peace,
you’ll make love,
you’ll make joy.

Years and years go rushing by
like light through the clouds in an evening sky,
brightening the dusk morning has made
till worries are old, so let them fade.
Let them fade.

And when you have no more anniversaries
and all your dreams and struggles cease,
I wish you peace,
I wish you love,
I wish you joy.

I wish you peace,
I wish you love,
I wish you joy.

Congrats!

I always kind of think of MB years like dog years though. Like for every year you're on MB, it seems like 7 years. So that would be what...42 years? God you're old.

But still smokin' hot. ;)

Muah!

Why thank you, my dear. ;)

Vegan - wtf? For a Vegan you sure don't act like it.

What? You don't think vegans can make death jokes?!?

Anyway, in my anniversary song about you, technically you aren't dead *yet*...you are just *near* death...you know, at the moment when we realize, "I think this is it! ****!"

I imagine at that moment there won't be any time to remember much of what we liked about life. MB may not even cross your mind! Or maybe it will! ;) But my point was that at this moment, which may be the most intense in your life, I hope you will instead of fear and regret feel...well, The Big 3...peace, love, and joy (that you got to live at all).

What can be more vegan than wishing someone a peaceful, joyful, love-filled life and a peaceful, love-filled death that doesn't feel sad? Darn it...I knew I should have included carrots somewhere in the song!!

What could be more vegan is droning on and on about the political rights of one species of livestock over another. You did however make a joke to the level I would assume a Vegan would.

I don't know what gives you the impression I'm filled with fear and regret but I'm actually widely satisfied with life. For example, I'm really enjoying the egg sandwich I'm eating right now.

Either way, thanks for the, uh, wishes there.

Actually, the part in the song about dying wasn't supposed to be a "ha ha, you're going to die!" comment, Big3, but instead was an attempt to show my simple wish, like I wish for everyone, that you will feel the whole journey of life is fulfilling as the years continue to go by.

And since you like politics, I wanted to encourage your interest in changing the world for the better. I never thought you were filled with fear and regret now. You seem very confident. What I meant in my previous post about fear and regret is that I imagine when anyone gets closer to dying, he or she may be afraid of dying and may regret life can't go on longer. I didn't mean your life would have been one of fear and regret.

It is true, though, that when I find out someone likes intense poetry as you do, I assume the person wrestles with some existential angst feelings, otherwise the poetry would be meaningless to him. So, that's why I wrote about not having worries. I'm glad if you don't have worries about time passing.
