we're just going to have to agree to disagree.
the idea that an artist wanting to make something BIGGER and better than a pop star's attempt for attention is a somehow different or more purified form of art strikes me as a convoluted farce. they're still aiming at the same target and shooting for the same goal. just one is direct about it and willing to get their fingers dirty for short term, and the other wants to be obtuse and indirect while constantly checking over their shoulder to make sure people are noticing how much they 'aren't' trying to be famous.
after all, 'the desire to be heard' is just a fancy way of saying 'desperation for attention'.
