I wouldn't sell out...The only time I'd make exceptions is if I desperately needed the money.
If I ever started a band, I'd like our music to be enjoyed by -real- music fans, not people who are totally satisfied by whatever's on the Top 40 and little else. D:

I could see myself doing what Talk Talk did. Play radio-friendly tunes at first so I could be on good terms with the label while simultaneously funding the band. Then I could progressively work towards what I want to do.

I don't see how it's possible to consciously sell out. I mean, if I ever end up making music I don't know how I'd be able to completely change my sound and know that I would end up popular because of it.

honestly, "selling out" is an odd concept to me
I want to make music that a lot of people like If you don't care if your music has appeal to people besides yourself, why go in public and try to foist it on them |

Selling out exists but every band has done it if they're selling music for profit, that is what selling out is. So it doesn't matter if you're on Buttf*ck Records you're still a sellout.
