But that works both ways. Sure women are more liberal and their standards aren't always as high, but they sure can be.

Standards aren't as high? Standards for what? You have to remember that men and women look for different things in potential partners.

From experience men are a LOT quicker to make harsher comments about girl's appearances than the other way around, and yet girls tend to be harsher to other girls than they are to men and it's because so many chicks have jealousy issues so girls get it rough from people of both sexes.
But dudes don't talk sh*t about other dudes no matter how ugly they are, but with women it's a serious f*cking thing and the stuff guys say about girls are so cruel and it's one reason I don't like to hang with "bros". I wont disagree with vegan on one thing and that's that men's standards can border on the ridiculous. |

^I wrote something about plausible reasons for all this some pages back, but I don't think anyone read it.
I'd give a rough summary of that post, but I'm sure someone would just read the short summary and not the whole post it's based on which would lead to some misinterpretations etc.

Ah yeah boo boo and Freebase I get what you mean now... I don't think I understood what you were trying to say. Obviously men and women are appealing to each other is a necessity, but giving up your rights and freedoms in order to appeal to someone isn't. That's what I was trying to say.
And yeah, I think it works both ways with judgements and criticisms - yes men can be harsh and degrading when it comes to women and looking for partners but I think women can be just as mean in different ways. I just think that both sexes should not have to surrender rights or be disadvantaged because of their sex when it comes to social or professional arenas. Men and women, not just women. And the reason I hastily picked 'no' in the poll is purely because giving birth freaks me the fuck out and I hate periods. Haha. In retrospect I am comfortable with myself and my gender and I would not want to be male... I like a lot of things about being female, even if it is challenging at times. (As I imagine being male would also have its various challenges). EDIT: I read your post tore - very interesting and I completely agree that men and women look for different things in partners and I too think it goes back to biological reasons. |

One thing I'd like about being a chick is being less hairy cuz being hairy is just gross to me. I hate having hairy balls.
But I'd be called a queer if I shaved my body hair and I dont want to go through the trouble of maintaining it anyway so I cope with it, I don't shave my beard for two reasons and that's laziness and to make my face look less fat. But a lot of girls don't like beards so I am tempted to shave to increase my desirability to potential mates but I don't think it would help really. |

Hmmm .. Some of the underlying reasons for Boo's baldness fetishism seem like they might be surfacing.
To me, hair is nearly just hair. I mean, I prefer girls with long hair on their heads and less body hair although the preference is not strong enough to turn me completely off something as long as everything else is in order. As for beards and other body hair on guys, well .. Some people suit it and others don't, I think. I assume most women would think some body hair on guys is attractive, for example on the legs.

Contrary to my fetish though I LOVE having long hair, even though maintaining it can be a pain in the f*cking ass, I'm satisfied with it.
Also if I was homosexual I'd totally have a no hairy guys policy, hairy legs on guys are so ugly to me, it's also a major reason I never ever wear shorts. You'll never see me without a pair of jeans. And guys don't wear jeans anymore so I do come off as very redneck. |

Really? I love guys legs that are hairy. I also like snail trails, for some reason. Not too partial of chest hair or arm hair, but I dig hairy legs and facial hair. Balls and genital region I don't really have a preference... hairy or not hairy. Like tore I think hair is just hair.
