It's not just that. I genuinely haven't seen it for sale here (turkey bacon that is) and I much prefer the texture, taste and fulfillment of sausages, haggis, black pudding, sliced sausage and burgers.
The internet seems to have a sweeping obsession with bacon and I'm not quite sure why, it's just not that good. |

Car commercials are worthless. The only car commercials I care about are Toyota commercials, because they make the best cars (that are not trucks) for sure.
Also on the note of cars, American cars are also worthless. It's pretty embarrassing honestly. I mean freaking Chrysler was bought out by a foreign company? Are you kidding me? Disgraceful that it had to come to that. |

As far as overrated food goes look no further than Nando's. It is OK, but you would think it's the best thing ever the way trendy types & uni students go on about it. Tweeting that you're in Nando's > eating in Nando's. |

I don't eat bacon. But if you're cooking it in oil... you're doing it wrong. If you don't want too much fat just get the ones that have more meat than white streaks, obviously.
I make the bacon platters at work. They're basically cookie trays but with bacon that we throw in the oven. There's a proper term for them that I'm blanking on but we've got these metal grids that are the same size as the trays. Putting the bacon on those grids before putting them on the trays and in the ovens helps keep it from cooking in it's own fat too much and getting too greasy. Plus, the drippings all go down to the tray and you can save that for whatever. Last edited by GuD; 05-28-2014 at 03:15 AM. |

I should mention that the bacon we get is pretty thick and that method probably wouldn't work with thinner varieties as they'd probably get stuck to the grid thingy.
Look at that run on sentence and it's glorious run oniness. |
