I just got out of the frying pan from a Britney Spears forum, and let me tell you, it was the most hateful little cesspool I've ever seen. All the Britney fans either devoted themselves to the destruction of other artists they felt intimidated by (Justin Bieber, GaGa, Christina Aguilera, Ke$ha etc.) with shallow criticisms, while defending Britney with an almost religious zeal. When they weren't doing that, they were taking their psychological problems out on each other, telling each other off in the crudest, ''your momma should have gotten an abortion'' petulent ways imaginable...

To add to the chaos, the mods and admins were hypocrites that had no sense of justice or control, had no problem banning unpopular members while excusing the more cemented, clique-friendly ones. They never really enforced their own rules properly, and actually encouraged users to degrade one another...

There was no element of preaching in the post, just an honest, heartfelt description of what reading and books mean to her. The question was "why do you read" not "why should you read".

In any case, different strokes. To bring the point home, we all gravitate to the places where we find the most like-minded people, and obviously I've found more of them on that forum. :\

Not when it comes to a person like Britney, and providing one is a dedicated fan, there's a surprising amount of material to discuss...people discuss EVERYTHING about the woman, from her IQ, to her mental disorders, and everything in between...and the music too, obviously. Also, it feels more like a contempory pop music forum with Britney as a little sideshow attraction, as are most boards dedicated to one artist...there's usually always a general music section bustling with activity in such places. But if you want to be surrounded by plenty of *******s, that community I just mentioned does a pretty damn good job of meeting that criteria...

Btw, I saw no jabs in any post here. At least not at any one specific person.
