I've got about 5,000 posts on a Cincinnati Reds board (baseball)... no big deal. ;) I also have a few hundred posts on another baseball board and lurk a few others. So far I haven't found a better subject for a message board than baseball...

This forum, DDD and Progarchives and that's it. And here's my summary of each one.

DDD: The original, I've been a member for over 5 years, just a few weeks before joining this place and I've been back and forth ever since. It used to be populated by metalheads so I trolled it a lot, then it was populated by indie kids, so I trolled it a lot. I'm very disliked on this forum because I never use it for serious discussion except when I get into heated arguments which is often. But I don't have friendly discussions with people. Most of the people here are f*cking idiots and the mods never do anything. I do still hang around though when I get tired of the more strict control of MB so when I feel like being an assh*le I come here.

Music Banter: I first joined as an alternative to DDD, for a good while I found this place even more alienating than DDD but over time I warmed up to it a lot and it's really the only place where I can make friends with people and carry friendly musical discussion.

Progarchives: I visit this the least often. It's an excellent website for it's information on prog bands and for recommendations but it's forum is populated by pretentious screwballs and closedminded old people who never engage in any real conversation and combined with how strict it is it gets really boring fast. I only post when I get fed up with the bullsh*t from the other two forums, but it doesn't take long before I want to come back to MB.

Do you think this is a coincidence? I don't.

By the way, MB is the least strict message board I've ever seen. Maybe baseball forums are just way too uptight, but I think this site is perfectly moderated...

You need to see DDD. No one has been banned from that forum in years. That isn't an exageration.

And no I don't dislike the fact that mods here do their job I'm very pleased with that and it really does keep this forum a pleasant environment but sometimes there are people who just piss me off and I can't really speak my mind or control my temper, on DDD, if someone is being a f*ckwad I'll call them a f*ckwad and that's the end of that.

Seeing as you haven't been banned every 2nd day, I'm too scared to go there.

Apart from MB, this is the only forum I post in...Soul Source : Rare and Northern Soul
Although, like MB, I don't post anywhere near as much I used to.
It's a great community too and always an interesting place to visit.
The knowledge of some of the members on there is humbling to say the least.
If ever there was a blueprint for a music forum...Soul Source is it!

When I was 13 I used to post very frequently in 4 local forums. And was a moderator in 3 of them.

-A political one, I was quite the activist. (mod in that one).
-A religious one, it seemed fun to rant the "believers".
-A none themed one, that introduced me to Pink Floyd and the Beatles, and somehow ignited my love to music. (mod in that one).
-A forum for for fans of one of the local artists. (mod in that one).

Then I stopped my forum activity, till last year, when I joined MB ...and only posted in here ever since.
