Fame? Even though women are attracted to struggling musicians more so than musicians that earn a lot of money. They're attracted to the sensitive side of a male, a male that writes melodies and poetry/lyrics.

I'm a girl and the last thing I care about is wheather or not my boyfriend is famous. Sure, musicians have a sort of appeal to them because they are respected (well, the good ones anyway) and people want to listen to what they have to say. Plus, theres the stereotype of the introspective, tortured kind of genius which in a way every girl kind of wants. For me, the less famous they are the more attractive I find them. |

It's not about money because all the musicians I know are poor. Even semi-successful ones.
I always thought chicks were attracted to musicians because they were sensitive and could express their emotions... via music. Or some crap. |

The way I see it, people are generally attracted to talent. In natural-selection terms, talent is an advantage where the lack of talent is not. A talented musician, or a talented artist, or person of any trade is a more viable mate than someone without that talent. It speaks to success and security and an ability to support.
That would be a basic, innate desire and attraction... that a mate be good at something. It's only logic that it makes more sense than simply going for an attractive physique that had no capability of supporting offspring. But where musicians come into play, and while I think talent would be an underlying force in the attractiveness, I think it's important to keep in mind the media overlay that has been superimposed on musicians since the beginning of the whole thing. Musicians are often chosen for their physical appeal, extensively dramatized and made into icons in order to sell the music to a larger audience. This has been happening for a long time and is part of our culture and ingrained in us as developed humans. I personally think that the main reason that PEOPLE are so attracted to musicians is mostly because we've been conditioned for it. Had musicians remained a bunch of drum-beating natives with no edited videos and purely the sound of the music, I don't think we'd have quite the same reaction we have today. |

I'm going to go back to the irresponsibility thing
I thing women are attracted to musicians because they know we'll bust it in their mouth, instead of going, "Oh hey, Hi, I hope you're happy. Do you think I could, maybe, if you want, if you don't mind, let me bust it in your mouth?" so to reduce: irreponsible don't waste time being too nice ---------------------------------- bust it in their mouth I think I'm going to write a self help book |
