Middlewood Way? Isn't that an old disused railway?
I think I've ridden down it, but turned back before getting too far.
The name rings a bell.

duga...probably the only reason I go biking is for the tranquillity and peace.
Getting away from the city and heading into the countryside when you get the chance, can't be beat.

If you've got mountains...Do it.!!!

Manchester is fortunate to be within close proximity to some beautiful countryside. We've got the moors and the Pennine Range to the east, the Cheshire Plain to the west and The Peak District in Derbyshire, all within an hours drive.
Riding through and stopping off at some of the small Derbyshire villages like Eyam, for a city boy like me, is like visiting another planet.

You won't regret it. If you're lucky enough to have nice scenery close by to where you live. Even if it means taking the bikes by car a short distance to get there.

Yeah I just need to find a group of people to go with. Must make effort! There are all kinds of social groups for different hobbies/activities I just haven't taken the plunge. There are constantly events being organized it's just hard figuring out what skill level each event is. Never know till I try! I'm just full of excuses.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Yeah, its a disused railway, one end of it starts just outside of marple, then it goes miles and miles in a perfectly straight line.

Edit: On, and for day 1 of this weeks riding, 13 miles... lets see if I can equal or better the 70 miles last weeks total came out as.

Update: 27 miles at the end of the second days ride. Well on track.

Gargh, plan cancelled. 35 miles in, and came off the bike. the front disc is now squeaking like a mofo, and even though the bike is rideable, its too annoying to listen to. I was planning to take it into the shop on tuesday for a full and complete service anyway, so I'm just going to let them fix the problem, since the bottom bracket is making odd noises too and I don't feel like spending hours of my time trying to fix something that would have been spotted and fixed then anyway.
