Ah... a classic.

It does seem a bit un-professional. Like I say, it is a bit stupid, and it is only socks, but the line has to be drawn somewhere.

Should read;

Quote:

"We would expect our staff to wear uniforms provided and do not feel that 'novelty' socks with slogans and images are appropriate for presenting a professional image to patients and members of the public because we are totally devoid of any humour whatsoever!"

Doing what exactly?

Well it's not a very humorous situation being carted off in an ambulance after a heart attack or something. I can understand someone being a little less at ease being treated by someone wearing novelty socks.

Given the horrors that ambulance crews must witness on a regular basis, can't they be allowed a little sunshine in their lives in the form of novelty socks?

I would love to be picked up by ambulance dudes wearing fishnets

that would make my life

sidewinder 02-10-2010 06:33 PM

It should read

Quote:

"We would expect our staff to wear uniforms provided and do not feel that 'novelty' socks with slogans and images are appropriate for presenting a professional image to people who are fucking dying and not giving a fuck what the person saving them is wearing."
But yes...a dress code is a dress code. However, socks are a pretty minimal violation and it's not like they're doing so in protest or trying to offend anyone. There should be a bit of leniency here and there.
