The advancement of human beings is all that matters? So, by your logic we could just instruct the slaughter of all living albums and this would not affect or hurt us in any way? I think if we did that you would see how sadly misguided you really are.
I'm not familiar with the term living albums. But you are suggesting killing other things would affect us negatively... You don't get the jist of what I am saying. If killing another animal or killing a species negatively affects us, then that's a bad idea. It doesn't help the advancement of humans.

For starters, I think you were actually the one to suggest you knew what animals were thinking. I mean, you did state that they are perfectly content to roam and graze in a field all day, did you not? How have you come to this conclusion? Did you ask them?
I do not know what animals are thinking. See, I don't understand any animal languages. And yes, I do think cows are content grazing a field all day. Why wouldn't I? They are always just standing around like the lazy, huge animals that they are. Like I said, funny how some people in this thread are quick to criticize me, but are basically doing the same thing in assuming what animals think. Obviously nobody knows for sure.

You see, without being able to communicate with another species, how could you possibly comprehend the way they live, think, or communicate with one another? How could you possibly know that we are the "master species", when you clearly know so little about others? We have the ability to advance our own species but we largely choose to dictate what animals mean to us. They mean livestock and mainly food. We choose to take what we want or need from them to further our own lives and our own species yet by doing so, arguably hinder the advancement of their own. But how can you be so sure that thats what these animals were MADE for, rather than what we have decided they are to be used for.
The part in bold is exactly what I am trying to say. As humans, we ARE the master species. it's pretty obvious. We dictate what happens to animals, not the other way around. We are the smartest and most powerful. Human advancement is the most important, not the advancement of livestock. As I said, I don't know why anything was 'made,' but as the smartest and most powerful, we are able to decide what animals are used for. And I am glad for that.

You can have any opinion you wish regarding this but I would at least reconsider your stance on the intelligence of animals in comparison to humans. In my opinion, a great deal of your stance on this particular issue is based on assumption rather than any kind of education. If you allow yourself to question it for a moment then you may well discover that you are wrong.
Nah, don't think so. So I guess you think animals are smarter then, right? Lol. A lot of my stance is based on assumption and I think it's pretty easy to use common sense and realize that humans control the earth, not animals. It's clear as day that we are smarter.

You realize that humans are animals, right?
Are you smart enough to kill a defensive grizzly bear? Maybe, but I would certainly love to watch that fight. (Imagine for a second if you didn't have a gun - that's how I imagine it.)

I bet there's a dystopian novel out there that deals with the classification, segregation, and raising of lesser human beings for the purpose of mass consumption. I think I'd read that. It'd just better not end like Brave New World.

I eat meat with the awareness that food animals give their lives to satisfy my appetite.
I don't feel entitled to their sacrifice, but I appreciate it.

Whats your point? Are you having a tough time understanding the distinction between animals and humans? If so I can try to spell it out for ya.

So seriously answer me one question.

Are you saying that humans are the smartest animal on the planet?

No. Whats random is meat eaters who feel the need to be all "I EAT MEAT!" around vegetarians. Its a personal choice and yours (therefore ours) is not an acheivement.

Well, I think you view our own species to be much more than we actually are. Just saying.
