You know, I'm quite frankly tired of seeing members pop up in this thread for two minutes, post a picture like this or make some kind of arrogant comment and then leave.
I'm not even vegetarian but it's this kind of attitude that some people have where they are perfectly happy to force the fact that they ARE a meat eater into a vegeterian/vegan's face that annoys me. Most of them will meet a vegeterian determined to force their opinions onto them with annoyance at the same time and yet still feel that their behaviour is justified. |

I also find it fascinating that you seem to think you know so much about other species, besides man. You know, from what I gather about the way you are approaching this and any kind of logic you are applying to your opinion, I can kind of see how this is making sense to you. However, I still have to completely disagree with you. You see, without being able to communicate with another species, how could you possibly comprehend the way they live, think, or communicate with one another? How could you possibly know that we are the "master species", when you clearly know so little about others? We have the ability to advance our own species but we largely choose to dictate what animals mean to us. They mean livestock and mainly food. We choose to take what we want or need from them to further our own lives and our own species yet by doing so, arguably hinder the advancement of their own. But how can you be so sure that thats what these animals were MADE for, rather than what we have decided they are to be used for. You can have any opinion you wish regarding this but I would at least reconsider your stance on the intelligence of animals in comparison to humans. In my opinion, a great deal of your stance on this particular issue is based on assumption rather than any kind of education. If you allow yourself to question it for a moment then you may well discover that you are wrong. |

For me i think there is nothing wrong with consuming other animals. Though it definately is done excessively. The only reason I'm a vegetarian is because the way its done on a large scale. I will eat meat on a local level but when it comes to eating tyson chicken, i would rather eat chicken that has seen the light of day and can stand on its own legs without the weight of its own body being to hard to handle. I think as far as the food industry at large is concerned its just like any other product.

Not eating meat is just so random. How is it any different than a person deciding to not eat vegetables anymore because PLANTS HAVE FEELINGS TOO!!!

Also, do people still use the word 'random' like you did right there? I thought that usage had gone away due to lack of meaning. You should probably stay away from a lot of major US cities as you'll find lots of Random people doing Random things there. You'd be confused for sure. |

if vegetarians were really concerned about the exploitation of weak and defenseless beings they wouldn't use any commercially-produced goods or services. the modern world runs on the exploitation, suffering, and degradation of human beings and animals alike, so when someone thinks they're making even the slightest difference by not eating meat they're being naive and a bit ignorant if you ask me.
