As if you're grammer is not sub-par along with his' grammer, at least he uses 'capitol" letters - j/k. I think if being semi-pretentious isn't a prerequisite to joining MB, it's the only way to surivive here.

just to address the capitalization thing...with informal stuff i tend not to. i think it implies something casual. it is just my thing.

i'm all about doing my best to incorporate tone into my online communicating. i find people mistake it a lot and infer something i didn't intend half the time. so, i started using all lowercase for really informal situations to imply a kind of "chilled out" vibe.

ok i totally started busting out my philosophy on internet chatting...which probably implies that i am taking this way too seriously.

but i typed it all out anyways. whatever.

It doesn't imply a "chilled out vibe" to me, more like a fourteen year old emo vibe.

Agreed, I never found using the Shift button too taxing to not be bothered with.

As for "then" and "than", I don't know the distinction between the two. However, most of the time I can just sound the sentence out in my head and recognize which one fits.

Then references the order of events. (This happened, then that happened.)

Than references a relative value. (This is bigger than that.)
