The Official "I've Just Reached a Significant Amount of Posts" Thread!

Also known as the THREAD OF CHAMPIONS!

I have finally reached 1,000 posts.

Since yesterday afternoon I was in a race with Kayleigh to see who would reach the 1,000 mark first. When we started, she was several posts ahead of me, but for the next couple of hours I posted endlessly until I was 13 posts ahead, she at 985 and I at 999. However, sometime during the night while I was asleep she caught up with me. When I signed on this morning Miss Kay was at 995 posts. But I was prepared. And now... I am the champion! (dramatic illustrations of this journey coming soon)

I would like to thank NumberNineDream for her assistance in this victory, and Kate for (unknowingly) helping me along the way. Kayleigh, you were a worthy opponent, but I think it's safe to say the best man won. :D

FETCHER. 12-08-2009 03:52 PM

I never knew it was a race :(. Or you would have been eating my dust. :(

I love you a lot. xD

Honestly I would rather have one quatlity post then a 1,000 post count. I am quite happy of keeping my post count very low. And not to brag or anything like that but I have a 3% ratio of Thread to Reply count! A good analogy would be like I like being a supporting actor then having my name on a marquee.

Honestly, I would rather you had one quality post, also.

Trying to appear eloquent in responses is only successful when grammar and spelling is applied.

Scarlett O'Hara 12-08-2009 07:36 PM

Join the club Wolf n' Kayleigh, I just made it the other day to 1000. It's taking me only 4 years.

LoathsomePete 12-08-2009 07:58 PM

You were a busy girl this year Vanilla!

Anyhow I reached my 2,000 post sometime today, however I wasn't even aware of the fact until my 2,003 post so it obviously wasn't a very memorable moment. Regardless, congrats on reaching your 1,000th.

someonecompletelyrandom 12-08-2009 09:08 PM

I was so happy to reach 1,000 because it seemed like I was stuck in the middle for months and months and now i'm already about 400 plus posts over it in no time. Heck I even remember making a thread like this for my 700th because I was too impatient to wait for my 1,000.

FaSho 12-09-2009 07:00 AM

I think on my 3000th I posted a thread about the Blackout Band...EPIC

Don't Stop Believing (Journey Cover) - The Glee Cast

CHAMPIONMIX.rar

WWWP, I like the fact that your Champion Mix includes the Glee Cast song...not so much because I like the song, but because I like "Glee." Heh heh...I just watched the last episode for the season yesterday.

I am curious, now that Kayleigh is aware of the competition between the two of you, who will get to 2000 posts first!

When grammar and spelling *are* applied, they certainly help posts appear eloquent, but I feel that content and intent are more important, especially when posts are intended to be funny. For example, I feel WWWP's thread, "I've just reached a significant amount of posts," is amusing and her description of the race was quite eloquently suspenseful, even though technically post count should be described by a number and not an amount. I feel grammar errors are cute.

Akira 12-10-2009 02:29 PM

Actually, if you're going to be anal about it, both 'are' and 'is' can be applied equally in that sentence.

Now, back to writing generic hippy songs.

"Are" is indeed more correct, well, if you're going to be anal about that is.

Akira 12-10-2009 02:39 PM

Both are correct. There is no 'more correct'.

WWWP 12-10-2009 02:41 PM

Try Word instead, it's more accurate.

Wait, ToeAndno, don't you mean "both is correct?" ;)

Hey! Are you *also* writing generic hippy songs like I am? I couldn't tell if you meant *I* am going back to writing them or *you* are going back to writing them.

But then no one would know that they reached a thousand posts. To many posters the thousand post is an important milestone (~1.609 km-stone) they wish to surpass some day, there is a certain prestige to it, a bragging right for dedication. What an exhilarating feeling to surpass the 1.000 post milestone (~1.609 km-stone), what an accomplishment indeed. I've just passed the 4 furlong marker the other day and wow what a feeling.
