This is a comment on +81, just a general one. I think Conan should think hard about who he hands the password to, post count is irrelevant, you should use your knowledge of the people who ask.

It's more about the quality of the posts I say. e.g Gotjuice has less than 300 posts, tho I think we can call him a regular.
Plus, It's pretty easy to get our numbers to +500 in less then 2 months when we just say nothing.

I like and use RYM myself, but it seems like it would be a pain in the ass to have a MBMF profile that needs to be updated every time an album is uploaded to MF. Would one person update it? That seems like a PITA because everyone would have to PM their uploads to that one person, who would have to add it to the RYM profile, etc. Not to mention, RYM logs you out every time you access your profile from another computer. What does that mean? That means if everyone that has MBMF access had access to the RYM profile, people would be unknowingly kicking others out whenever they log in.

That said, I've never used a MF account so I don't know how searchable it is or anything. Also one big question...is there any way to know the bitrate of files uploaded by others? I know they could put it in the rar file name, but let's face it, most don't care and won't bother stating it. If there is, I'd be interested in participating. If there's no way to tell, just like with most blog downloads, then I'll pass.

Definitely agree, I know a whole lot of my posts are pretty useless.

Just a thought to throw out there on the issue on letting people in. Instead of going off the persons quality post count. Why not make it where everyone that has the password decide if the person gets the password. That way it makes it easier to know if a person gets in or not. Well it's just a thought to try and make it easier for you all.
thanks

The question is: How can the man decide?

Akira 12-06-2009 05:44 PM

He has to use his own judgement..he's a big boy now, lol.

This sounds really interesting, hopefully I'll be able to participate.

What would be the point of this? I mean, unless were all uploading our rarest albums, and even if we are, couldn't we find them somewhere else? It'd be years before there's enough music on that account to be as convenient as finding music in other ways. Plus, isn't there are a limit on how much you can upload? Like what if I wanted to upload my entire library? Then what? Maybe I will if someone can convince me of why.

BTown 12-06-2009 06:43 PM

^As stated earlier in the thread there is no limit to what you can upload, but everything has to be under 200 MB. I don't see this as a way of finding a certain album, but discovering new music by seeing whatever has to bring to the table.
