Sleeeeping Patterns
If somebody has already had the creative genius idea of already making a thread like this, then merge, i unfortunately cannot be bum'old to search, sorry.
Anyway, i have 2 days off a week. On these days off i sleep in till like 3pm WITHOUT FAIL, consciously spurning any plans i have in order to bask in the sanguine solace of my bed. However, i then cant sleep that night till like 4am, aware of the fact i have to be up at 6am to go to my stop-gap sh!t of a job. I'm literally like a zombie for the rest of the day, irritable and nonreactive to pretty much everything. Cue inane threads like these to rid me of the boredom that plagues me when im not out. Anybody else stupid enough to do this? |

I have hypersomnia, which is very annoying, unless I dont have anything to do the next day.
At the moment I am not at work this week. This has involved me going to bed around 3am, falling asleep around 5/6 and getting up at 3pm. The tricky thing is when I have to work or do something else, that's when the zombie state kicks in. Fortunately I'm used to having 2-4 hours sleep and then working a full day when I have to. Not nice at all.

I prefer staying awake for the next day then trying to sleep for few hours and waking up grumpy. I've been staying awake once every two days, and it gets a bit ridiculous in the morning when I have to drive to Uni. The problem is, I'm only active at nights, so makes coping with the "day" world very difficult.

I go through periods of hyposomnia and hypersomnia, and I shift work that alternates between mornings and evenings, which doesn't help. I know I couldn't go on with two hours of sleep that would kill me. I don't have any advice I just know it's a grind.

It's usually people being annoyed at me cause I don't sleep or cause I sleep too much.
I slept today for 20 hours.

i have difficulty falling asleep almost every night, i try to get to bed by one or two but i still have to get up at eight every morning. i usually don't lapse consciousness until three or four and i rarely if ever sleep all the way through. as a result i tend to doze off during class and i spend long periods of time zoned out of my fucking mind. it's like i'm perpetually tired, but i can't find a way to recover.
i almost wish it had something to do with my habits, but i exercise and eat better than most.

I usually stay up the latest when I know I have something to do and intend to do it, but instead get distracted with something more amusing.
I should be sleeping right now. But I had to write a paper. But there's EASY MAC next to me. So I made it. And then I watched old videos of my marching band. And it was great. And I have to write this paper. There's only a paragraph left and I'm procrastinating, guys. |

Only somewhat related, but I ran across this the other day and I think it's pretty neat:

I also get really ****ed up sleeping patterns like that Stu... when I'm on teaching rounds I am just absolutely drained by the end of the day that I just come home, do my lesson plans for the next day, and then just crash and fall asleep straight away because I'm so exhausted. Which is great. But then when I'm not on teaching rounds and I have the pleasure of experiencing being able to sleep-in later than 6.30am and not having copious amounts of work to do, I get really lazy, sleep-in, and then can't get to sleep until really late at night.
Damn body clocks. |
