Old story;

I got into conversation with a bald guy I used to work with on the subject of baldness.
I said it was hereditary and he replied how that was a load of rubbish because his dad still had a full head of hair.
Jokingly I replied, "You must take after your mam then!"

At which point I immediately remembered she was having chemotherapy for cancer.

I was once with a group of friends at my mates 20th, he was wearing a sash with something lame like '20 year old virgin' across it or something, and me being the numbskull i am quipped "AT LEAST YOU ARENT ACTUALLY A VIRGIN AT 20, THAT'D BE TRAGIC", forgetting a friend standing right next to me was 21 and a virgin. Suddenly there was a hushed silence as i stood there, foot firmly in mouth.

p.s. to anybody who is a 20+ year old virgin, there is nothing wrong with that, just drunken banter for you.

We went to the movie rental place and got some video.
It was a porno.
It's Porno Saturday.
Yesterday was Porno Friday.
The day before was Porno Thursday.
I love my friends.

Oh man!

I've got a friend who, um.. Doesn't have a mum and a popular retort to someone here (a jokingly retort) is saying "yer maw" for example, "what are you doing?" "yer maw" and I said something similar and along those lines completely forgetting she never had a mother. I swear I've never wanted to die on spot in my life, except then. It's the worst feeling I've ever had.

One of my best friends lost her mum before i met her. On two occasions i've said to her retorts revolving around the 'your mum' line and both times there was like a 5 second interval before i realised what i said and who i was saying it to. Really horrible feeling when you look at their face after realising. I curse my absent mind.

Yeah my friend lost her mum before I met her too. It's awful isn't it. My friend doesn't really bother, cause she knows it isnt a dig at her. She just laughs along. I always change it to "your dad" for her, and wind her up Im pretty lucky shes like that.

Yeah luckily for me too my friend understands it's just a thoughtless response you give anybody. You cant be 100% on the ball all of the time. It just so happens my lapses usually result in a horrendously awkward moment.
