Christmas desk decorating contest - need ideas!
so my wife works in a big office. lots of people. and to promote christmas cheer, they're having a desk decorating contest with a nice prize.
i think that for starters, we'll go in on sunday and cover her desk top to bottom with gift wrapping paper. but i don't want to stop there, so i'm fishing for ideas. nothing too flashy or too expensive. but i need extreme creativity. everyone will put tiny plastic christmas trees on their desks, so we need something unusual. something that will stand out. go! |
Ikea do flatpack gingerbread houses for cheap (£2.50 over here).
|
Is what's above the desk taken into consideration?
cause dangling some cool home-made lanterns can be interesting. |
stormjh, what's flatpack? we have IKEA here (Budapest), but i don't quite follow...
NumberNineDream, the desk is really more of a large table. slightly curved. round legs. it's not exactly in a cubicle, but it has low (1.5 meter) walls around it. it's very open, in a large room with lots of other desks. high visibility. high ceilings too, so lanterns could be tough. |
Tell her to bribe the coworkers with a fresh plate of Christmas cookies or something. Stringing lights wouldn't be a bad idea either if you could find a way to make it work.
|
lol, that's tougher than I thought. I was never good at this, but I'm trying to remember what we used to do in school. I'll get back to you on that.
|
Flatpack just means it comes in flat pieces and you put them together, they're only small, I bought one today as the girlfriend wanted one we could make together, how very twee we are.
