I took the test and my letters were INTP:
Quote:

Logical, original, creative thinkers. Can become very excited about theories and ideas. Exceptionally capable and driven to turn theories into clear understandings. Highly value knowledge, competence and logic. Quiet and reserved, hard to get to know well. Individualistic, having no interest in leading or following others.
I'm shocked, this fits me perfectly. I've taken these tests before, but they are normally far off on all but two components of my personality.

I'm the same. INTP - I believe it's accurate too, very accurate.

I would do well in a relationship with either of you, apparently. It seems that ESFJ and INTP are exact opposites.

I am INFJ.
This is scary accurate, mindf*ck.

The more times you take the test and come out with the same result, the more it solidifies that you fit the bill for that type.

I'm an ISFJ

Quiet, kind, and conscientious. Can be depended on to follow through. Usually puts the needs of others above their own needs. Stable and practical, they value security and traditions. Well-developed sense of space and function. Rich inner world of observations about people. Extremely perceptive of other's feelings. Interested in serving others.

I guess this fits me pretty well, though sometimes i'm just like "**** people, they can suck a dick!" which doesn't quite fit in.

I don't know how much faith I put into the Briggs-Myer test as I've made a habit of taking it once every year for the last 3-years now and every year I get assigned a different personality. 2009 I was an ESTJ, 2010 it was INTJ which was flattering but I knew it was a little off. 2011 I actually forgot to do it, so consider this an act of penance on my part, but I did 3 different tests and got ISTJ - The Examiner.

Here's just a little blurb of what it says about that personality type.

Quote:

ISTJs are quiet and reserved individuals who are interested in security and peaceful living. They have a strongly-felt internal sense of duty, which lends them a serious air and the motivation to follow through on tasks. Organized and methodical in their approach, they can generally succeed at any task which they undertake.

ISTJs are very loyal, faithful, and dependable. They place great importance on honesty and integrity. They are "good citizens" who can be depended on to do the right thing for their families and communities. While they generally take things very seriously, they also usually have an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun - especially at family or work-related gatherings.

I won't quote the entire piece, but I do definitely feel this personality type is more on the mark than the others. I really do have this ridiculous sense of duty, like I need to be doing something regardless of whether or not people actually come out and say it, and I've been known to forgo things that would have made me happy in order to appease someone else because it clicked with that sense of duty. It's a little annoying in some regards, but as a result I do generally feel like I have a pretty clean conscious, despite all the bad shit I have done in my life.

Quote:

The ISTJ is not naturally in tune with their own feelings and the feelings of others. They may have difficulty picking up on emotional needs immediately, as they are presented. Being perfectionists themselves, they have a tendency to take other people's efforts for granted, like they take their own efforts for granted. They need to remember to pat people on the back once in a while.

ISTJs are likely to be uncomfortable expressing affection and emotion to others. However, their strong sense of duty and the ability to see what needs to be done in any situation usually allows them to overcome their natural reservations, and they are usually quite supporting and caring individuals with the people that they love. Once the ISTJ realizes the emotional needs of those who are close to them, they put forth effort to meet those needs.
I am definitely guilty of these, especially taking the efforts of other people for granted. This shows up more in school when I'm assigned to a horrible group project and I get frustrated with the work ethic of the students I'm assigned with. I use to think this was because I always got assigned into the worst possible groups, but last semester I was assigned to a group of students I would have considered smart, but they left me in a constant state of frustration.

As for expressing emotion, the only emotions I have no trouble expressing are more often negative ones like anger, frustration, and disappointment. This has lead me to burning a lot of bridges and losing a lot of friendships over the years, as some people are just not as emotionally hardened and jaded as me to let such remarks penetrate.

Quote:

Sexually, the ISTJ is likely to approach intimacy from a physical perspective, rather than as a means of expressing love and affection. They usually have a problem expressing their deepest feelings, even though they may be very strongly felt. They will expect sex on a relatively scheduled basis, and are likely to honor traditions regarding gender role-playing. Male ISTJs will assert their perspective on their partners, while female ISTJs will tend to follow along with what their male counterparts want (although they will be uncomfortable with anything extremely out of the traditional norm).
This definitely rings true and may explain why I prefer one night stands to relationships. It could be I'm just reading into things too much, but as I am my own favourite subject, I can't help but dedicate a little too much time to these things.

I got an INTP but I don't really know if the test was really right for me. I was very very very in the middle for 2 of the 4 questions and it was only a slight leaning towards one of the answers so the explanation wasn't as relevant to my personality as I thought it would be.

I'm in between INFP and ENFP. I'm not too quick thinking, but I'm laid back (INFP). I also have pretty bad social skills (ENFP) but I enjoy the company of other people.

I'm so confused.
