I do place some confidence in the MBTI metrics though, simply because how accurately my type describes me.

INTP - The Thinker
Logical, original, creative thinkers. Can become very excited about theories and ideas. Exceptionally capable and driven to turn theories into clear understandings. Highly value knowledge, competence and logic. Quiet and reserved, hard to get to know well. Individualistic, having no interest in leading or following others. Hmm.. That's somewhat true, but only some of the time. I am pretty logical but when my heart tells me one thing and my mind another, I always go with my heart. So I have to question just how accurate these things are. I'm just me. |

Myers-Briggs is not at all similar to astrology. But you really need to take the official test to get accurate results - not some free internet version.

The internet version IS similar to astrology if you aren't true to yourself and answer them a certain way. Also I would imagine the results wouldn't be too accurate for people that don't know themselves well enough.

Bolded part is definitely true. The real Myers-Briggs test though, is very long and full of vague questions that were written so that one can't really help but answer honestly. For instance, to determine extravert vs. introvert they don't just ask "At a party do you stand in the corner or are you the center of attention?" a hundred different obvious ways.
