I bought my exes' old Laptop.
She bought a Macbook Pro for her school so I could buy this laptop for a nice price

It's an Asus X50V.

Pretty up to date machine. Had to steal the 1GB RAM module from my IBM Z60m which now has 1,5GB ram instead of 2. I found a 512MB module lying around.
The Z60m will be fine with 1,5GB of ram as it will run XP.
The Asus will soon run Windows 7 and I wouldn't recommend running that with less than 2 gigs of RAM.

The machine itself runs smoothly, but it does need some TLC.
The internal wireless thingy is dead. It's some sort of tiny miniPCI thing, so I'll have to find one of those and replace that.
Apart from that, the hinge got the beating:

I Already ordered a new hinge a couple of days ago.
Will take some time to arrive though, coming from China.
