Be careful about Elph's openings, he's not big on protection.

I last bought an original pro 51 scanner.......

I used to have one years back but I didnt take care of it :(

Best 2nd conversion scanner I ever had (Recieve is excellent)

I hope this one was taken care of and works as should.....

I still have my original pro-51 -- It needs a new plug to plug the adapter in but I dont know if thats the only thing wrong with it....I suppose I could have it repaired...

Mindy 12-02-2019 09:57 AM

I bought some yellow paint, the good kind, and a lot too because I planned on coloring the background on my recent painting im doing with all yellow but i painted it blue before my yellow paint came in the mail :o: so the inside part will be yellow now.

plus since im too weak and bitchy to drink apple cider vinegar, somehow i landed on the pill extract form online during shopping for others.

then theres that new flavor of REIGN :pimp: mang-o-matic

Frownland 12-02-2019 10:03 AM

My stomach can handle a lot, but I'd say that I'm too weak and bitchy to drink apple cider vinegar as well.

Frownland 12-02-2019 03:28 PM

 <--- That's apple cider vinegar in the glasses

YorkeDaddy 12-04-2019 07:47 AM

Speaking of apple cider vinegar, I just bought some recently to treat a ****ing wart on my foot

Not the most pleasant thing I've ever done, but it's been effective so far

grindy 12-04-2019 08:30 AM

****ing pussies. I had warts on my hand when I was a teenager. Cut them off with scissors. Not even exaggerating.

I don't think that would be possible with this one lol. But I did consider trying something like that. It's just too big and formed

grindy 12-04-2019 08:38 AM

That's what she said.

Plankton 12-04-2019 09:16 AM

I had a rat gnaw mine off.

Plankton 12-05-2019 07:13 AM

32 gigs of DDR4 260 pin RAM for the new laptop. I've had to hold off on building the VR world on that because of low resources, and porting it all back to my Thread Ripper PC is a pita. **** all that.

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....fL._SX466_.jpg

A lot of times you'll see PC's/Laptops with low end RAM for a lot less than a maxed out system, and you can buy RAM and install it yourself for a lot less than what mfg's mark up and install in their builds.

Mindy 12-05-2019 07:59 AM

32 GB of RAM? Congrats, thats probably very fast.

Plankton 12-05-2019 08:11 AM

It's 2666gHz, and there's faster out there. I can overclock it, but RAM is mainly for memory (Random Access Memory) and when running large loads on the system it's better to have a lot of headroom. Most times when a program crashes it's due to hitting the RAM ceiling.

I can see it now... It's year 2032 and the ability of showing human emotion has declined due to reactionary gif's.

They do work quite well though.

I have an I5 intel core processor, I think thats what makes my laptop turn on in 5 seconds :)

Yours probably turns on in 1 second! :yikes:

Mines an i5 on my Laptop too. 9th gen 6 cores.

My PC is where the real horsepower is. It's got a Threadripper 2990 CPU and a GTX 2080ti GPU. Beastly.

All you really need for boot speed is a fast hard drive. Also 5 seconds is great.

The speed at which a computer boots is almost entirely due to the speed of the hard drive. This is why solid state hard drives boot almost instantly. Booting off a small or even external SSD is a great idea, while storing things less time sensitive can be on a cheap 7200rpm drive.

God damn I just looked that up. This is probably a dumb question but I couldnt find the socket type. It wouldnt be AM4 would it?? And what possibly GPU do you have that doesnt bottle neck that beastly cpu?

The MOBO is a ASRock X399 Phantom 6, which is where the bottleneck really is. I grabbed this one pre-configured, but if I were to part it out myself I'd have thrown a ASUS ROG Zenith at it.

Plankton 12-06-2019 11:50 AM

Also, the socket is a Socket TR4, also known as Socket SP3r2.

YorkeDaddy 12-06-2019 03:51 PM

I think it's interesting that I work in IT and I don't even know what you guys are talking about nor does it ever come up in my work. I guess these kinda of details and distinctions matter more for personal hobbyists or in industries where extreme power and performance are necessary, not so much for general IT maintenance

The Batlord 12-06-2019 03:53 PM

I imagine you'd need to know that stuff to be a Sysadmin for a company. I took a semester for that stuff in community college and all the little things you had to remember blew my head right off my shoulders.

Sysadmin has very little to do with hardware details. The sysadmin at the school I worked at spent basically all of her time in Microsoft Active Directory/SCCM. She also created the images for deployment and managed the content filter. Obviously working for a school would be different than working for some big for-profit corporate place, so idk there could be differences.

I'm a Network Engineer so I deal with infrastructure, access points, switches/routers, servers, domain controllers...hardware specs like Plankton's been talking about has never once come up in my work

Plankton 12-06-2019 04:03 PM

I run a CAD department. I need to know hardware as well as networking.

Got a Google Pixel 4 today, it's very fantzy.

Plankton 12-10-2019 03:59 PM

Fantz fer yer pantz.

My RAM came in the mail yesterday. I installed it and and my laptop got up, grabbed a beer and started playing random Mingus tunes while finding the moments of inertia for five trillion separate truss designs as it told people on social media that all their base belong to us. It was only at 5% of it's resources.

I might get the 4, even though they took the fingerprint scan thingy away and do the face now. :o:

I'd rather do your face than your fingers.
