I agree with you that there is nothing wrong with liking it when someone dolls herself up every now and then...I was just amused that the way you stated it made it sound as if you might as well date a guy if a woman doesn't shave or wear make-up: "If i wanted no make-up and hairy legs i would date guys."

My point was that, like I feel you essentially say above, there is more to a person than just superficial externalities...and people who feel the whole person is worth more than those separate parts will often overlook or accept what they don't find so attractive...such as stubbly legs when a girlfriend misses shaving for a day or two.
