Found the model on the company's website but it doesn't tell me anything about the sound. Just that it's High Definition Audio. :/

My computer was attacked by a virus. I can't log into my regular profile now without getting some fake "copyright violation" notices. Task bar never shows up. Control+Alt+Delete says the Task Manager has been disabled by the Administrator. If I log in as a Guest, or even in Safe Mode now, I keep getting virus alerts (virus, it's not an anti-virus that I have installed). Can't do a System Restore in Safe Mode, because it says it has been disabled. I have read that once disabled, you lose any previously saved profiles...so even if I get it switched back on, it's no help. I have run both MalwareBytes and Search & Destroy numerous times while in Safe Mode, deleted/fixed all problems found (quite a few), and nothing helps. Every time I run them, the same issues reappear.
As the Brits might say, I'm properly fucked. I'm thinking at this point I need the help of a professional. So why I'm posting here, I don't know. |
What actual virus program do you use?
MalwareBytes and Search & Destroy aren't virus programs. |

I'd recommend going with either Avast or AVG, both of which are free. They're good.. and even if you accidentally initiate a virus download, those two programs are up to date enough to catch it on a manual scan. If it turns out your problem is actually spyware/malware trying to emulate a virus so that you end up buying something, then those can usually be dealt with individually or with programs like MalwareBytes, depending on how recent your definition database is on it. Just know that you don't really have to resort to paying a professional unless it's your last resort... if you don't mind doing a little research and allowing me or any of the other tech-savvy people in here to help you out, you may be able to save some money. |
