Look... I don't know shit about how Windows programmed its clipboard. So far this is the second time someone complains about it, regardless of OS. I do appreciate the fact that you're having problems though. It helps me feel better that I still use XP and I have none of the problems you guys have.

hey storymilo, is it a laptop? does your PrtSc key share a function with anything else? might be an Fn key issue.
alternatively, to see if it's a hardware issue, go Start-Run and type osk.exe this is the on-screen keyboard. use the PrtSc button there, and see if it captures your screen. if it works, then it's your keyboard. also, not sure what all this Ctrl-PrtSc stuff is about. all you need is PrtSc. using Alt will capture the active window, but Ctrl does not do anything...

well i've used this app to remap keys before, it works quite well.
KeyTweak Homepage also, you can use it to see if the PrnSc key is registering.
