I know that the keystroke cntrl+prtsc copies screen images into the clipboard. Unless there's something wrong with your clipboard itself (Which Tore is having a problem with right now, in Windows 7, so it's not beyond belief) then a keyboard problem could be likely.

Just to be sure there isn't some kind of weird software clusterfuck, restart your computer an attempt to capture your screen image again. Paste it in Paintbrush. Let me know what happens.
Procedure:

1. Restart Computer
2. Deal with normal startup processes
3. Realize why ObjectDock wasn't working; fix it
4. Minimize all applications, hit Ctrl-PrtScn
5. Open MS Paint. Hit Ctrl-V
6. Frown.

Look... I don't know shit about how Windows programmed its clipboard. So far this is the second time someone complains about it, regardless of OS. I do appreciate the fact that you're having problems though. It helps me feel better that I still use XP and I have none of the problems you guys have.

Professional I think.

It might be that this is just some long-standing computer issue and there's nothing to be done. I don't know if I've ever taken a screenshot on this comp.

hey storymilo, is it a laptop? does your PrtSc key share a function with anything else? might be an Fn key issue.

alternatively, to see if it's a hardware issue, go Start-Run and type osk.exe
this is the on-screen keyboard. use the PrtSc button there, and see if it captures your screen. if it works, then it's your keyboard.

also, not sure what all this Ctrl-PrtSc stuff is about. all you need is PrtSc. using Alt will capture the active window, but Ctrl does not do anything...

Ah ha! It worked... must be a keyboard issue. I'm not using a laptop, but the PrtScn key does share a function with "SysRq." So does that mean the key is set to the other function? How do I go about changing this?

well i've used this app to remap keys before, it works quite well.

KeyTweak Homepage

also, you can use it to see if the PrnSc key is registering.

Nice one, Noise.
I didn't even think to ask about whether it was a laptop or not.
Probably because I hate them. Even subconsciously.

Apparently the key is mapped to Print Screen, and yet it still doesn't work. Does this mean the key is just not functioning?
