Not exactly the thread for it but close enough -

I am trying to connect my VCR to my Roku TV. My speakers use the RCA space, so I am using a composite RCA to HDMI converter. Nothing is getting through at all, it’s not recognizing anything as connected. What do?

First you'll need a time machine if you want to get back to the 1990s.

You'd need to go from Roku to VCR, then VCR to TV utilizing what ever connections it may have. I'm guessing you'd need HDMI to RCA, then RCA to RCA on your TV would work. As far as speakers, if your speakers are powered from your TV, then you'll be good. The yellow on RCA jacks is the video and the red and white are audio, so bridging them from Roku to VCR to TV is the route the audio would take to get there.

Ok but what if the roku is *in* the tv?

WWWP 02-06-2021 11:13 AM

I’m going to try a coaxial

Oy. Not sure whats going on then.

If you just want the sound track removed, that's easy enough. Select audio track in whatever program you're using (VLC, Media Player etc) and uncheck it. That should give you a silent movie, as it were. Then I imagine using something like AVIDemux you can add your own soundtrack. I expect that should work. You might have to reselect it as Audio track two or whatever.

I think they just tell you you have to have ads or something accompanying the video, don't they? They don't prohibit you from uploading it.

Cover the music with a kazoo and use that instead.
