Might as well post my present issue, just in case anyone has a simple solution.
OS: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS 64-bit. Application: Kodi v18.0 (also tried v17) Issue: After running my latest batch of system updates and removing unused packages, Kodi freezes and stops responding or terminates suddenly every time I attempt to access or install any add-ons. Default YouTube addon pops up a failure to connect message when the application first opens. All attempts to install any add-ons cause the application to terminate. Crashlog: Spoiler for Click to view crashlog:
Troubleshooting: Removed all packages, uninstalled, reinstalled v17 via terminal. Issue persists. |

I don't think he posts any more but you could send a PM to Freebase Dali. He is a systems genius and if anyone knows how to fix this I'll bet my Marillion collection he does.

Perhaps I'll have better luck with the unofficial Kodi add-on support forum at tvaddons.org. |
Did you revert your system updates to isolate what might be causing the problem? I've had issues in the past with driver/system updates creating unintentional problems and the only fix was to wait for a second patch.
I'm gonna repost this to a tech forum I use and see if I can find something more conclusive because I really don't know much about Ubuntu and I feel stupid asking you such a dumb question. |
