Not sure how Apple Mail works, but I believe you can EXPORT your emails/contacts to a file, then IMPORT that file (I believe a PST file) into Outlook. Just see which file types are acceptable from Outlook, and follow suit.

Can anyone clear up whether my system is bogged down or my internet just too slow? Everything is taking ages to load or play, and although I have a few progs open (Spotify, Skype, DAP, torrent client and Firefox etc) teh resources don't seem too stretched (showing 17% used). My system is a decent one --- AMD Phenom II X 6 2.8 Ghz with 8 gig ram --- so it's no slouch, but this is really starting to annoy me. Downloads are taking forever, programmes are freezing, Youtubes stop/starting... any advice?
Thanks guys! Oh, Windows 7 64-bit and there's piles of space on the C drive...

To check your internet speed, just google internet speed test and go to one of the sites to test if you're getting what you're supposed to be getting. As far as programs lagging and other general slowness, it always helps to scan for viruses and also clean out a lot of temp junk you most likely have, and do a defrag. Download CCleaner to clean the temp junk and registry issues, then do a defrag on all your hard drives using the built in defragmenter, assuming your hard drives aren't solid state drives. If you do all that and you're not successful, you have bigger issues. Sh*t like "bit rot" is an issue, where the OS just generally gets f*cked over time. A fresh reinstallation can help in that case. However, don't overlook the hardware portion. Hardware gets stale and eventually starts giving out. Check the event viewer to make sure you're not getting hardware errors.

Thanks FD, have it sorted. Was a problem with the telephone line. On instructions, I have now connected the line directly to the router and my speed is back up to what I expected, so things should be ok now.
Appreciate the advice, as ever! TH

Does anyone know if there is an easier way to recover your password for email from friggin' Gmail? I haven't lost it, per se, just forgotten it, and though it's autofilled in FF I'm starting to use another browser so that doesn't have the info it needs, also I need it for my Galaxy S4. But when I tried to recover it they're asking me ridiculous questions like, what month and year I opened my account!! HTF am I gonna remember that? And labels? WTF are labels??
And if you don't get it exactly right they refuse to send you the pw. Now I applaud their security but ffs! It's like trying to break into Fort Knox! I may have to change my email completely, set a new one up. If so, is there a way to migrate my current inbox to the new one? Or is there some way around this ****ing Spanish Inquisition before I get my password back? Thanks, and yes, I know I should have written it down. D'oh!

Actually, due to some snooping around in the settings in gmail while still logged in in Firefox I managed to get enough information to satisfy the inquisitors of Google and managed to change my password to something I'll easily remember.
Not going through THAT again!

I used to be able to watch Netflix unrestricted thanks to Media Hint for Firefox. Now I'm starting to use Chrome as FF is so slow, but MH seems to no longer work. Well, there is one but it's now a paid service, whereas the previous extension was free. I've tried Hola and that doesn't seem to work.
Can anyone advise how I can break the "US only" restriction so I can watch the shows I used to be able to watch? A lot of it is unavailable if you're not actually in the USA. Thanks guys. TH
