Need more info - How much RAM? The white MacBooks do not have more than 2 GB of RAM which is nothing these days. It can be hard for computers with that amount of RAM to keep up with Flash websites like Youtube, especially when the videos are embedded (i.e. like the ones you see in MB posts)

Is your hard disk almost full? That can slow things down too. It's good to defragment it and do a disk cleanup once in a while.

Did you add any Firefox addons around the time you noticed this issue? Have you tried another browser to see if it's system wide or restricted to Firefox?

The other thing I find really taxes my Mac are animated gifs. If they are in thread or someone has a gif avatar it's a real pain in the arse.

This is just kind of a basic question, but I'm curious none-the-less

I'm thinking about upgrading my Acer monitor to a Samsung 21.5" HD monitor and make use of the HDMI or DVI port on my video card (a PNY NVidia GeForce GTX 650) and use the 1920x1080 resolution. I'm just wondering if this is going to impact the performance of my games? So far this little card, though while a little dated now has performed admirably, allowing me to play multiple games at high or maxed out settings while using my Acers 1366x768 resolution. I am thinking about upgrading to a GXT 660i, and they are currently on sale for $250 plus a free copy of Metro: Last Light so would it be better to update my video card and then get a new monitor, or will my current video card still handle the higher resolution of the new monitor?

Looking at the specs, it seems that your current one will handle it.

Good to know, I upgraded my card to a GTX 660ti just in case and that should keep me going for a couple of years. Best Buy is doing a sale on a nice 21.5" Samsung HD monitor for $139 and I'm making some money today for moving furniture and boxes into a storage locker so I'll be set no matter what.
