Ok potentially the dumbest question in this thread but where is Internet Explorer in Windows 7? I have Windows 7 installed in a BootCamp partition on a MacBook Pro. I rarely use it but I need to do some testing. In order to test I need to network to my Mac printer. In order to network I need to install Bonjour. In order to install Bonjour I need a browser. I typed internet explorer in the search box at the bottom of the start menu and there's nothing there. Went looking for it and there is a folder in programs but no explorer exe. I figured ok maybe they don't bundle it anymore due to their legal problems so I went downloaded Safari for windows on my iMac and installed that. I still want to install Explorer though to try and get windows update working. I have had issues with activating Windows and it seems to want Explorer to solve the problem. Any clues? I don't have the Windows 7 disks because they set the laptop up at work.
Edit: Well I managed to set up the printer as a CUPS share by following these instructions: Print from Windows 7 to a Mac Shared Printer Only wasted the entire morning. Thanks Windows. Edit 2: Found the solution to missing Internet Explorer here: Internet Explorer missing on Windows 7. Basically Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features on or off > Click check box next to Internet Exploror Last edited by Stephen; 05-16-2013 at 11:04 PM. |

edit:
Okay so after returning the Radeon card I bought and getting an Nvidia GeForce GTX650, my computer is working perfectly. Windows searched and installed the drivers I needed (at least I think), but when I tried to use the CD that came with the product, I get this: but when I look in device manager, it seems that all the drivers are installed properly, and when I use http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/ to see if I can run games I've been interested in, I get a pass on all of them when before they would have been failures. Can I just assume Windows grabbed the right drivers and that I shouldn't rock the boat, or is this going to come back and bite me in the ass later? |

So someone wants to pay me for an artist commision album cover I did for them. I set up a paypal. What next? what do I need to give them in order for them to send the money to my account? And then how do I get that money? Will it go into my bank account straight?(remember i'm a techno retard)
I now have an account on paypal, so what next?

Freebase an update, my computer is now with Samgsung and they are going to fix my network adapter hardware issue and camera. Fingers crossed its all for free! Thank you for your help though I went through your recommendations and I didn't see your driver there. If I could have connected to the net I would have downloaded the driver. But Samsung can do that for me! It's weird how the camera driver disappeared considering I never deleted it.

Pete, that graphics stuff can be weird. My computer came with a pre-installed
graphics card (ATI) and yet when it boots up the ONBOARD detection programme can't find it. Ever. Doesn't cause me a problem though. I assume that PNY is your motherboard drivers, as otherwise it would be an ATI disc, would it not? Anyway, Freebase will know if I'm wrong, but I'd say if it seems to be working don't worry about it. I'd only be concerned if Windows couldn't find ANY graphic adapter. Once it's seen in DM I'd think you'd be ok.

For whatever reason I got to skip a step after installing the graphics card because everything is running great. All the games I bought over the years but have been unable to play are running well, and come the Steam summer sale I can repurchase a few big titles that I played on a console, but would rather play on a PC.
