I'll probably be getting a new one anyways as this one seems to now be completely fried. It doesn't even turn on anymore.
Does it absolutely NEED to be a laptop?
'Cause, if not, I can make some suggestions that have the potential to serve you well for a long time.

Preferably as I take it to school with me, using it in class and such. I know I could just use my Mac but at my school, that one's more likely to get stolen! I also like the laptop in the library as the public computers there are really gross, and its such a waste of precious time to wait for one.

Does anyone know if you can Scrobble to Last FM if you have Winamp instead of iTunes?

Does anybody know of any full-fledged graphics programs (like Adobe Photoshop or FireWorks) that are free? The closest that I could find was GIMP, which is pretty impressive for freeware.

Gimp is the most powerful freeware raster graphics editor. Another good contender is PhotoFiltre.

For vector, try Inkscape.
