Because it's a shop usually located on the corner of your street? If it isnt on the corner then it's usually referred to as something you might not want to repeat
A "liquor store" is just an offy (off-licence) to me. |

Being as proud and bitchy as I am, I certainly "dazzle" them. It's good stuff. Racism sometimes works in my favor, though. Like when I'm out and get hit on. I can always resort to not speaking English. Ooh, or even better. Jury duty.

It is predominantly a North East thing but I use a lot of slang and some is not related at all to where I come from.
