If our knees bent in the opposite direction...what would a chair look like?

If I want to do myself in, should I be able to? It won't matter what everyone else will feel because I'll be dead.

and boston is not full of anal rapists

^Simular question.

This isn't a personal question, just a common subject that's debated. Do you think suicide is selfish, or are people selfish for viewing it as selfish?

I agree, I always thought of suicide much like moving very far away to a point where you will never see them again. Do you consider someone who moves to another country as selfish? I don't.

It's actually a subject that is a bit too close to comfort for right now, but even then i think it's your life and you should do what you want. This only after a hell of a lot of thought though because obviously someone will be effected, no matter how much you tell yourself they won't be. I like to think most people reason themselves out of it this way.

Also Crowe, your answers are brilliant. Once i have some problems i'll be sure to come to you!

Someone will be affected and it will hurt them to never see you again supposedly. But will those consequences matter? You will be rotting in the ground...

No one could possibly say, maybe one day if you choose to live you'll end up saving someones life, or more likely starting a family. Consequences are impossible to judge but i always assume it's better to find out.

Eh, but all those feelings won't matter because you won't have any.

I really don't want to sound like someone who is itching for attention because I keep talking about it. I'll stop because this kind of stuff pisses people off.

Again, who can say? What if you're caught hovering limbo watching everything going down?

I'm not entirely sure if you're saying this from a completely personal view or not, if you are it's probably best for PM's. If you're worried about pissing people off though that contradicts the other paragraph.

This is easy. They would look the same with a small trench running down the middle of the seat. That trench exists so that men's balls do not get squashed. As chairs exist now, if we had no hamstrings or buttcheeks to separate our scrotum from the surface of our sitting area then we would have pancake testes. In order to insure the survival of the species, this Teste Trench would have to be made so that our sperm have nice little orbs in which to swim around. Also, you would be straddling the chair and not sitting with your legs out to the front of you now.

Suicide is acceptable in some extreme situations, and an ignorant way out in most others. If you are lobotomized, maimed, disfigured, paralyzed or otherwise living a life not-worth living due to the sheer difficulty of physically being alive... maybe suicide is the answer. However, killing yourself for reasons like; "The people at Taco Bell don't put enough cheese on my Mexican pizza", or "the love of my life is more interested in the Paleontology professor at Uni" seems a bit selfish to me. You are willing to traumatize the people in your life who have the rest of their lives to live still... yet you think that your "pain" is so great that nothing else matters. That IS why people kill themselves... nothing else matters to them, they stopped caring, they gave up... I don't care what silly-ass justification they give... the real answer is that they are quitters. If you have noone who loves you or is a part of your life and you feel like you need to commit suicide... sod off. At least try to make it neat so someone else doesn't have to clean up your cowardly blood. Suicide is by-and-large pathetic, and I hope that none of my loved ones commit suicide because I will take them off the loved ones list immediately. If your actual opinion is "it won't matter how other people will feel" - then please, do us all a favor and get the **** out of here, you probably aren't contributing much to anyone else anyway.

Also, being 100% sure that there is no after-life is just as foolish as you consider the very religious to be, in a sense. You have faith in the fact that if something like that existed it would have been proven by now... by the very fallible creature that we call "Man". The earth was once flat, you know...
