So am I the only one who wears their headphones even when they're not listening to music? I just like the comforting sense of isolation when I can't hear anything from the outside world. I guess the pressure from the earpieces on my head probably also is about some pleasantly claustrophobic womb **** too.

A kid gets into an accident early in his life, and the only brain damage he has leaves him twitchy, and cannot move normally. However, he decidees to become an ASL interpreter. At the end of the interview, the employer says "We can't hire you because you twitch too much. I can't make out what you're signing." So the twitchy guy says, "Are you making fun of my accent?"

To anybody that listens to Deftones, is there something I'm missing with the band. I've been listening to them ever since they released White Pony, and for whatever reason, every time I listen to one of their albums, I can't seem to find any enjoyment out of it whatsoever. Same goes for their newest album, Gore. I gave it a pretty negative review in my journal because it just feels the same as all their other albums.
I know a lot of people like them, and I'm curious as to why? Am I missing something incredible about them? |
Nah, I don't think so. Personally I love their stuff, but I wouldn't call it essential or anything, and I know tons of people who don't really like them. Gore was decent, but I agree it's just a retread of everything else they've done so far and that was a little bit of a let down. If you can't get into White Pony, I don't see you ever really liking the band, but if you have the time you should give Koi No Yokan a listen just because.
