Does this explains why Dave Grohl sound so different live compared to many studio records of the Foo Fighters where he often sound so beatle-y?

This cover art's aesthetic almost look somewhat like the logo for a pixar movie that I have not watched for years now.

That ^ takes me back a bit. I used to have a copy of CoolEdit Pro I grabbed off of a Warez site. I recorded this entire album with it (and quite a few other tunes too) and a Creative Labs soundcard in 2002:

The sound quality was crap through my setup, but I didn't care. Also, that's the singer from the Chicago thrash metal band Zoetrope on the vocals.

Thanks. That was slapped together with bubble gum, spit, and a prayer. I had no clue how to create separate tracks, so they were all glommed onto one, which is no bueno.

frownland or trollheart got this one probably

I didn't get this, either. My wild guess was Gerard Manley Hopkins's "Binsey Poplars". I love Jeopardy!, though.

Frownland 03-25-2022 08:07 AM

I didn't get it, but I should've (my random guess was Oranges by Soto). The date threw me off, references like that aren't usually so recent so I was thinking of stuff from 1940 onward.

Hey, at least you got the time frame correct. My wild guess was a Victorian poem, so that was way off - and my only reasoning was that it's about felled trees that presumptively could be "restored". And poplars don't even bear edible fruit, so that was way off too. :o:

Plankton 03-25-2022 09:49 AM

I blurted out "The Grapes of Wrath!".

Not even a poem, so...

I've seen a few clips of Jeopardy! now where somebody has no answer but still puts money down. What's the deal? Is there some rule I'm missing?

rostasi 04-04-2022 08:51 PM

They choose their wagers before the clue is unveiled.
Using the example above: since I know very little about current TV,
I would've probably wagered only a few hundred dollars instead of $0
just in case it was something I actually knew about. In this case I would've
had no idea because I've never heard of "Succession" and so would've only lost
a few hundred dollars.

robhr 04-04-2022 09:35 PM

Ah okay.

I'd recommend Succession it's really good. Not a lot of story, usually I care more about story than characters, but the characters are just so good it's top tier TV in my head.

rostasi 04-04-2022 10:20 PM

I generally don't recommend stuff to people I don't know.

robhr 04-04-2022 10:27 PM

True. Okay if you’ve enjoyed other HBO dramas I’d recommend it.

rostasi 04-04-2022 10:29 PM

I've never watched HBO, so I wouldn't know.
