Anyway, people keep saying that there are men who get convicted of abuse despite there being no evidence, but I wonder how often it actually happens. It'd be interesting for someone to look through case files and find some actual examples. Because if you compare the numbers, and it's just a dozen or so men getting the hammer for every thousand or so women who have to suffer domestic abuse, then it hardly seems like a win for the ladies to get the benefit of the doubt every once in awhile.

nobody would have ever guessed that my ex threw me against walls sometimes, left bruises on me, screamed at me until I cried and curled up into a corner against the wall, but he did.

the repercussions of coming clean about it would have been endless but you know, situations differ and whatnot...

the people who lived upstairs from us knew very well what was happening and didn't say a word.

surely if I could hear one of the girls sneezing upstairs, she could hear my ex shouting at me and throwing things at me.

but no.

nobody ever says anything.
