I know, but I like Cantonese food anyway. "Jellied Pork Knuckles", "Salted Frog", "Fishball Soup", etc., sound and look really disgusting, but I think they're actually pretty good.

(I prided myself on being able to stomach everything they threw at me in order to save face for my company. That was the only thing I stopped at.)

It's just fish paste.. I can't imagine it's that bad. Was it a taste thing? Texture?

That's a Western interpretation.

When they are going to cook a whole fish they clean out all of the guts and digestive tract. They take that and combine it with a bit of spices and binder and make meatballs. They then take some of the cooking broth from the main dish (to add flavor) and make a soup.

I've eaten every freaking thing served to me with a smile on my face through my travels.

I just about vomited after one bite.

That's what I said, Fish Paste, just because it's guts doesn't make it gross.
