I wouldn't know.. I've never had the pleasure of having one :(

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-28-2017 11:37 AM

damn the official line up dropped and there were a ton more acts, cloud nothings alone makes it 289423762 times better.

Frownland 02-28-2017 11:41 AM

That doesn't look worth the ****load of money I assume it costs.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-28-2017 11:50 AM

i mean you live in cali so im assuming if you wait long enough you could catch the majority of bands in or around the state at some point. here we don't really have the option, so it's worth the money to cross off a ton of acts i really want to see.

Frownland 02-28-2017 11:55 AM

I would see RTJ, De La Soul, Danny Brown, and maybe a handful of other performances. Badbadnotgood would've made the list but they've lost their magic. Lots and lots of meh on that list though, not worth the money imo.

DwnWthVwls 02-28-2017 01:13 PM

and London Grammar, MGMT, Cage the Elephant, The Weeknd, Lordy, and Foster..

idk or care about a lot of the others. Maggie Rogers sounds familiar.

This is why...

She is the one that Pharrell was gushing over and she got extremely popular over the summer last year with her Folk mixed with dance feeling music.

Kill it with fire

DwnWthVwls 02-28-2017 02:04 PM

Yeh, not enough "rebels" yelling nonsense into a mic and playing abrasive scratchy guitars.

Chiomara 02-28-2017 02:05 PM

About half of that lineup looks terrible. Also expensive.

This is neither folksy nor dance-able. This is a milquetoast Forever 21 model making bleating sounds. (What is she trying to communicate?) Forgive me for sounding like a curmudgeon, but this is precisely the kind of uninspired, dreadfully mediocre, tepid, overpriced coffee shop background music that needs to hurry up and die out. That particular singing style, too is incredibly grating.

Frownland 02-28-2017 02:05 PM

@DWV If that's your way of saying that there's not enough good music, I agree.

DwnWthVwls 02-28-2017 02:08 PM

Totally ....

lawl

if you were from canada (and listened to better music) you would understand the excitement.

There's like five hella rad acts.

Cuthbert 02-28-2017 02:54 PM

Chiomara 02-28-2017 04:10 PM

Checking in from my local tex mex restaurant-- I have had ONE (1) single margarita and I am already quite tipsy. Many moons ago I could drink anyone under the table. In my defense they made mine far stronger than my friend's drink! As always.

Frownland 02-28-2017 04:23 PM

I'm more about the Mex-Mex food.

That's how she describes her own music though.

But that's just as easily attributable to the fact that I never went to a reputable establishment in my underage days

Reputable establishments just mean it's been Americanized.

Potentially illegally operated taco trucks>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

They have drugs sometimes too.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-28-2017 04:42 PM

tacos and drugs? damn, i'm in.

djchameleon 02-28-2017 04:43 PM

So GTA was right?

I can get drugs and tacos in those trucks? hmmm

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-28-2017 04:44 PM

Frownland 02-28-2017 04:48 PM

It sounds like we're thinking of two different things re: americanization.

Gotta be the right guy though. When they have drogas they have Mexican fireworks too (fireworks are illegal here because California can be turned into a statewide fire way too easily).

Chiomara 02-28-2017 04:57 PM

Elphenor, no it wasn'tt unfortunately-- the places around here all cater to the palates of elderly white people who think black pepper is spicy, so.
(BUT one tex-mex place near here makes decent chiles rellenos AND roasted quail which redeems them a bit-- I'm a slut for roast quail!)

Correct! Those (and small taquerias) are always better. Plus they have horchata usually! I should make some horchata RIGHT NOW.

Yeah, I love Banks as well. I can definitely hear the similarity between the two.

Frownland 03-01-2017 07:43 AM

Tell him that you were playing free jazz and it was unethical to stop. He'll understand.

Luckily it's a jazz class and therefore completely meaningless.

yeah the credit hours arent really important either but like it's 25% of my grade so i am kind of upset over it.

Frownland 03-01-2017 10:41 AM

Just come into class with a saxophone and confront your professor with a sweet sax solo. He'll give you an A on the spot or he's not a real jazz man.
