For whatever reason, viewing the first episode of BBC's The Prisoner is making me greatly regret not starting my surrealist horror news/cult podcast years ago, long before Welcome to Night Vale came along. What I wanted (and still may) to do would have been similar, but a lot more understated and slow-burning (a bit like a droning NPR radio show hosted by a WASP-y New England lady) -- no overt implications of tentacles in the sky or anything-- and it would have tied into an accompanying site consisting of newsletters and informational articles for this fictional town. I would likely need a couple reliable people to serve as voice actors, though. (The people I tested back then were terrible.) I lost most of my outlines of the finer details and plot points for this theoretical radio show, but I think I may begin building it again.

I wish roller discos would become popular again. Maybe.. a nu-disco roller disco with a proper 80s arcade that played lots of John Carpenter and Goblin remixes late at night? (Not that I know how to roller skate, but I AM kind of okay at rollerblading!!) Or would that be uncool? I'm certain at least some people would remain after the fickle novelty-chasers grew bored of it. We're all dying; might as well roller skate.
