buy a jew's harp instead

Buy a blender and then have milkshakes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week.

Where is the best place to live? Let's say money is not a problem but you're by not exactly a billionaire.

I'm guessing somewhere with hot sunny weather, lots to do, nice scenery, big cities for the city lovers but also areas that are more rural so you have a choice. I'd say decent food but this is America, eating is what you do.

Frownland 02-21-2017 03:59 PM

In Florida or America in general?

The US in general sorry, reads like I meant Florida.

I have an idea in my head that California would be ideal, obviously I haven't been so this is all just down to what I imagine it to be like.

Fuck knows what happened there. I meant, money not a problem but you're by no means a billionaire.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-21-2017 04:08 PM

ive only been through maybe 1/4th of the states but i think i'd like to live in NY.

Frownland 02-21-2017 04:08 PM

I'm obviously biased but I would say Southern California. It has a nice blend of beach, mountain, and valley. Plus, it's warm year round so our citizens don't spend two months a year stuck inside and as a result are ultra-sexy. The drug culture is pretty rad too if you're into that.

Reckon I would hate that. Somewhere like NY (or London) would be too much.

Some of the houses look cool though.

lol, seems like an amazing place.

lol'd at the bolded bit.

Chiomara 02-21-2017 04:40 PM

Southern California seemed nice based on what I saw of it, if you're one of those people who actually enjoy sunlight.

I desperately need to move, as well. (My requirements are: a LOT of antique stores, good food--Italian, creole, and South American especially--as well as a decent folk music scene and LOTS of greenery. Oppressive greenery. Frequent storms are a bonus.)

Frownland 02-21-2017 04:44 PM

Portland

DwnWthVwls 02-21-2017 04:58 PM

Have you been there Frown? That's where I want to go.. or the in the vicinity.

Chiomara 02-21-2017 05:05 PM

Yes, have you been there Frownland? I've been told by multiple people to move to Portland, but I'm assuming it may be cheaper to live in a smaller city in Oregon (but which ones??), however, as I've heard that Portland has become much more expensive in recent years. Seattle, too I'm assuming.

Edit: Also has anyone lived in/visited Tennessee?

I'm here now. Do not consider Portland if you need sunshine.

I went there once as a kid, but my school had a lot of Oregonians that made me want to relocate there. It's also the first thing that came to mind when reading Chiomara's parameters.

Definitely, the weather here gets you down, probably 70/80% of the time it's exactly the same, mild, grey and cloudy. When it's like that all year round a bit of sunlight feels euphoric and can really change your mood.

Surrey. Not sure how much folk music they've got down there though.

I thought you were in Washington, but could easily commute to Oregon? I don't need sunshine, I love fog and rainy days.

Vancouver WA is directly across the Columbia River from Portland and is an important part of metro Portland.

Ny is a huge state. Almost as big as Texas. When you hear NY all you probably think about is the urban NYC.

There are smaller rural/suburban type areas upstate with woody areas and great hiking trails.

If you want to experience all the seasons NY is good or even PNW(Pacific Northwest)

Probably the greatest all around place you can live in the States (assuming you can afford it) if you have no specific preferences

You are a short drive from everything but you aren't in the thick of anything, weather is unnaturally great

Sounds like New Jersey.

Instead of sleeping, I'm currently taking close-up photos of my eyeballs. As one does.

DwnWthVwls 02-22-2017 02:23 AM

Should post a couple if you get any cool shots.

Chiomara 02-22-2017 02:33 AM

Well, it's difficult to get a good shot of dark hazel eyes. Close-up iris photos (when taken with a decent camera) are incredible, though-- they look like a web of gnarled tree roots.

This is the least blurry photo I took:

OK, now it's someone else's turn to post an eyeball picture.
