How long can a dude survive in an alligator infested nature reserve? Well, with enough supplies, months I suppose.

He will get grabbed up, it's just a matter of time. Either that, or he'll be found dead.

Soon as this story started blowing up, I was about 80% sure that she was dead and that he was responsible. Seen similar stories too many times. The question of motivation is what's left.

The real question is, why should we even care? If you want to see a real life soap opera, just catch the latest Dateline.
