What was the show called?

Oh **** that was very important to me but now I have no idea. There was definitely a name to the show though. All I remember is that this was the guy from my dream. He killed a lot of people but the female lead wanted to believe that he was just misunderstood or something.

That sounds like the plot to The Philanthropist.

Nah it sounds like I was channeling the dude's character from The Following. Except he was a demonic entity in human form who everyone in the house was hiding from but the one chick thought was a good guy so she called him anyway.

You might be able to figure out which show it was if you can pin down which channel you were using.
