A carport? Not a garage? So it's open air? There's no actual real building connecting your dwelling to the house? My neighbor has something similar. It connects his house to his shed.

Yeah, no walls. Only a roof covering the carport. And correct. The only thing connecting it is the roof of the house. Otherwise yeah I basically have to walk outside each time I go into the main house. Obviously my room is built like an apartment so it is insulated etc.
