It's a real bummer that Jeff Goldblum hasn't been in all that many good movies. The Fly is still his most memorable role.

So I challenged myself on it and over the years I ended up thinking women are probably better at music than men

I somehow changed from being a young and confused future incel/alt right candidate to being a sjw soyboy cuck who likes girly music. I definitely used to fulfill the stereotype of the PC game addicted misogynist who didn't know how to speak to other people. I stay away from my past because it makes me cringe.

Misogyny is so ingrained in western culture that it's hard to realize that you are being a misogynist when that behavior is normal. I was never an incel level of woman hating but there has been subtle things and ideas that I noticed from my past to be a bit patriarchal. Most of that gets drudged up when I am reminded of the action movies my dad used to own that always pushed the 'damsel in distress' angle. The idea that women are weak, dumb and naive pieces of property that we are meant to protect and guide but only if they're pretty. Makes me feel gross.

I've always wondered if the whole frienzone thing wasn't at it's core misoginy. The entitlement for one thing, but it also appears that men quite often aren't really interested in women apart from physical attraction.

Quite possibly the most ****ed up mainstream movie scene ever is the velociraptor feeding scene. The anticipation is crazy, the actual scene shows nothing but holy ****ing ****, and the response from all the people in the scene is such that nothing anybody could ever respond to would top their horror. They simply don't have any frame of reference for that amount violence even if they couldn't observe and can't help but feel like prey.

Kinda. I think it happens to people of all walks that sometimes you are friends with somebody that you like more than they like you. It's just more of a stigma with men because men feel entitled. That's why I hate the whole girls only go for douche bags trope because the guy who says that is just a bitter awkward douche who's just mad because he can't get laid even though he feels entitled to it. It also stems from the idea that you're less of a 'man' if you're not having sex. This kind of pressure and sense of entitlement is a volatile combination for adolescent men who feel powerless. That's when they move towards violence to force people to validate their power. Sometimes it happens in the form of sexual assault. Sometimes worse. There's a reason why male virginity is a trend with mass shooters.
