Nah, I think it sounds alright. The worst part is how the vocals are mixed so loud it makes the guitars sound too quiet. Sounds fine in the Randy-free segments. Plus there's loud bass, which helps make it sound more ballsy than a lot of similar metal. Not that I think it's a great production job, but I've heard way worse.
But really, I could count the metal albums that I think have great sound on relatively few hands. One of the best things about listening to much more non-metal than usual in 2018 has been the huge number of absolutely great sounding records I've listened to. |
