It sort of does - probably due to that sort of dark, high contrast look with the faded colors.

The art style reminds me very, very much of the first five Metal Slug games, but this can't be from an SNK game since they didn't make RPG's.

I don't know where it's from actually, but that small black bar at the bottom makes me assume it's actually from a game. Much pixel artwork is not from a game, but made to have that style to it.

I'm not sure. I think I might have, but I suspect it was another game with the same exact type of view and gameplay. Probably in a Commodore 64 emulator years ago.

I've always had a weird fascination with old games like this, even if I don't really play them. They just have this cool, abstracted visual style that I like better than realistic graphics. They're like animated works of halfway abstract art.

EDIT: I'm just sitting here, skipping to various points in the video. For some reason, I just find the graphics in this game really appealing. It's like these tiny little, simple tableaux floating in a pitch black void. I don't know why, but I just like it. A perfect fit for that Mondo Bungle thread I'm too lazy to find and post this in.

The music in that game really stuck with me. Tim Follin did a great job on it.
