Of course the tobacco doesn't make you more high.
It's just a kick it gives your lungs and brain and whatever.

Alcohol is a bad analogy. If you drink twice as much it makes you twice as drunk, with weed it's hard to get higher after some point.

^that's why I smoke a cig afterwards. It gives you kind of a boost in your high. I hear it's not the same for everyone but that's how it is for me. It doesn't kill my high at all.
