Bruh, I've been a Harley Quinn fan for almost thirty years, and Harley Quinn has almost thirty years of characterization to flesh her out. Just accept that there's more to her than perhaps you're assuming.

Otherwise I might go on a nerd screed. The one thing I'll say is that she is the proof of concept for the Joker, that he can indeed destroy a human being's personality and rebuild them in his own image, thereby being an ego trip for him rather than any kind of real human connection. That's the starting point.
