I think when you get hit like that with the fear of death it's basically you mourning your own death. It's not just an issue of coming to a better outlook, you actually have to let some time pass while you grieve for yourself. Eventually you'll just get used to it and go about your day the same as ever probably.

If you're being serious I went through a phase like this a few years ago. I was doing stupid stuff regularly, like taking my age and working out how much of my life I've probably lived based on percentage of life expectancy. The worst was at night when I can't sleep. When I'm out actually doing stuff I couldn't care less if I dropped dead in the sense that I don't fear it then.

I wonder if people worry about it less or more as they get older.

I might come back to this tomorrow when I'm sober and don't have to consider my reply while staring at nearly-naked Prince.
