Don't care about having a morally justifiable defense to be perfectly honest. I feel kind of like an ******* when the hook sets wrong in a fish and goes through the eye or something, but at least from what I understand fish don't have much if any feeling in the actual skin around the jaws. So I'm good. It's just a thing I was acculturated to as a kid, I guess.

And just being on or around the water and soaking in the atmosphere is glorious. Throw in the interest from figuring out how to actually catch a fish, the burst of excitement when you get a bite, and the booze, and all of a sudden you have an afternoon of absolute chill.
